When: Tuesday, July 6th at 7:30am
Where: Flatbread Community Oven in Meridian (southeast corner of Main St. & Pine)
What: Meet and discuss the books that were chosen in June
Cost: FREE
These were the two books that were selected in June:
Leadership and Self-Deception: Getting out of the box: by The Arbinger Institute "...shows how most personal and organizational problems are the result of a little know problem called "self-deception". Through an entertaining and highly instructive story, Leadership and Self-Deception shows what self-deception is, how people get trapped in it, how it undermines personal achievement and organizational performance, and -most importantly- the surprising way to solve it." Excerpt from the back cover of the book.
Moving out of the box: Tools for Team Decision Making: by local author Jana Kemp. "This book is about how to have and expand a conversation that leads to actionable decisions. Based on the ChoiceMarks language and decision making process - "ChoiceMarks" provides new tools for expanding collaborative discussions and reaching consensus. This book makes problem solving and decision making less painful and more action oriented." Excerpt from preface, pg. vii, of book.
There will be coffee and ice water available. We would like to thank Flatbread Community Oven for their hospitality. We are starting a book sharing program, so if you have a book please bring it then. You are welcome to take a book only if you leave a book, that is the book sharing principle. If you haven't read the two books of the month don't worry, come and share the book that you're reading now. Hope to see you all there!
