Being in the cleaning business, people don't realize everything thing we clean up. It could be a fire damage restoration, flood restoration, carpet cleaning, mold remediation or abatement, odor removal, dead carcuss removal, skunk odor, urine odor, mildew removal, or other things like this that people never expect, mice droppings, bat guano, bio medical (bodily fluids), and the list goes on. What made me think about everything that we do to blog about was that we show up each day and unexpectedly get a call for something that we've never done, or maybe only one of us has done it before, but that brings me to our latest story. We received a call from someone who stores their late model SUV in a barn in McCall as they only frequent McCall as a vacation place. Well mice ended up living in the car, creating nests, having babies, making a terrible odor that you wouldn't even be able to drive down the road in with your windows down. Here was the protocal: first disassemble all pieces of the vehicle to find the mice, their nest, and any babies. This isn't your normal clean the carpet and seats, set the ozone machine and your done. We took everything apart. Luckily one of our technicians Rob has lots of mechanical experience to quickly take the car apart (it would have taken me days). Once we removed everything we found several nests inside the blower motor of the heating system, and inside the body. Rob and Nicanor actually made a suction tube 1/2 inch in diameter duct taped to the hepa vac to retrieve droppings in tight hidden areas. The mice droppings can carry a disease called the Hanta Virus which is carried through your respiratory system which could be fatal. Removing the droppings, disinfecting all surfaces, decontaminating all parts, with a final pressure wash then an ozone treatment this car will be ready for putting back together. However we will leave that to Cope Collision. Your car can be a haven for dirt, molds, and other things that aren't healthy for you. Get your car or truck into UltraClean for an auto detail. This month's special is for a car inside and out is $99 and if its a truck add another $50. And it doesn't have to have mice haven, just you wanting a clean healthy car or truck. Brandon Wright
